INTRODUCTION

The original Kerax was formed in 1962. Since then, the Company has expanded steadily, and now employs 35 people. The ISO9001 accredited plant based in the North West of England manufactures many thousands of tonnes of wax for sale to the domestic and export markets. The factory size reflects the growth of the Company, having been increased from 400 sq.m. to 15,000 sq.mtr (3.7 acres) site, with 5,000 sq mtrs (c.40,000 sq.ft.) dedicated to production and warehousing.

 In order to provide a completely thorough service, Kerax believes that it must operate on a policy of flexibility – each customer’s requirements are considered individually and specialist advice is given.  In developing its innovative outlook, Kerax offers a dedicated and bespoke technical service to customers, using specialist technological equipment to carry out product investigations.  In the well-equipped laboratory, scientists are constantly monitoring product performance and capabilities and controlling product quality, using the Institute of Petroleum, ASTM and other relevant national test methods.  In this way, Kerax not only keeps pace with, but is often one step ahead of new product development therefore becoming instrumental in increasing the scope of potential user industries. 

As well as quality products and professional service, Kerax would not enjoy its reputation at home and especially abroad without the establishment of an efficient and reliable delivery service.  The factory is conveniently situated for the UK motorway network and therefore well placed to export from all the major UK docks.  Export deliveries are made by direct truck shipment, containers or Isotank transportation. Each consignment is pre-planned via the most direct route to ensure minimum cost and shortest lead-time. Export achievements in particular underline the Company’s success.  Kerax exports to most of continental Europe, North America, the Russian Federation, Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and many other countries. Sales are made directly with customers or through local agents.  These agents are ideally placed to serve a particular overseas market, with detailed knowledge and wide experience of the market, the user industries and their requirements.

 Customers are served by a dedicated Customer Service Team based at the Chorley factory and Technical Sales professionals based in the North and South of the UK. Supported by the Technical Department who are experienced and expert in wax, wax blends and wax applications.
